Competitor analysis and industry trends show very few (if any) successful offshore projects within technical product information, except Sigma Kudos’ operations. Naturally, Sigma Kudos offshore operations ensures a significant cost advantage compared to onsite assignments, but the other major factors have proven to be quality, access to skilled personnel and a large pool of talented recruits. However, not all assignments and undertakings are suitable for offshore services. Depending on client needs and prioritization, various mixes of onsite, onshore and offshore are appropriate.

Our estimates show that Sigma Kudos is well ahead of the competition in terms of effective usage of our offshore operations in our set of services. Currently, our main offshore centers are in Hungary, Ukraine, and Malaysia. In total, Sigma Kudos has close to 200 staff in offshore operations. Our offshore centers are specialized in different services: technical writing and related service in Hungary, software development and Information Management services in Ukraine, and e-learning and media production in Malaysia.
A key success factor at each offshore site has been close co-operation with the local higher education. For instance, in Kharkiv, Ukraine, which is the third largest industrial region in the former Soviet Union, the universities educate 190,000 students (most of them within engineering or mathematics and programming) – a massive pool of highly skilled talent and a guarantee that wage increase will be manageable.
